Super excited for this show, the lineup is stacked, with some of my favorite live comedians. The artists featured are also great, we have our first returning performer: ALEX KROKUS! Last time Alex was on, he read a long-form comic about a cute little cowboy.

I cant wait to see ya’ll there!

Content Update

I finished that reel I was working on!

The video shows me assembling, filling, and destroying the sketchbook I made. I made the video and the sketchbook as a creative exercise, which was to just draw for the act of drawing. Making art just for the making of it. To make my soul grow.

I have been thinking a lot about the fleeting aspect of every experience. Our moments disappear from us as we make them. I’m learning to find beauty in the destruction and mortality of these things and I’ve been trying to understand it by applying it to the physical things I make.

In reference to this idea, I’d like to share Kurt Vonnegut’s letter to Xavier High School:

Obviously, I didn’t follow 100% of Vonnegut’s instructions. I failed to keep my little project a secret and I destroyed my work in an act of performance, displaying it for all to see (on the internet, which ironically kinda eternizes it). I can’t help it, I love sharing and I love attention.

To give my performance a purpose other than vanity, I did this to share the beauty and joy in the act of making. To inspire viewers to make just to make, and not to make just to keep.

I go on the internet a lot and I watch tons of creators assemble their projects. Those videos always inspire me to work on my projects and to be creative. I hope my video does the same.

Invincible Comic

I have been slowly reading the original INVINCIBLE comic online! I borrowed the e-books using my Boston Library membership and have been reading them on my kindle. I was obviously inspired to do so by the series on Amazon Prime.

I finished season 2 of the show and needed more story. I immediately fled to the source material and have been rediscovering my love for superhero comics.

I love this series so far. The art evolves really quickly, the characters have such realistic emotions, and the COLORS ARE AMAZING!!!! Also Korean-american visibility yes.

I would super recommend this series, especially if you’re looking for an american superhero graphic novel series that follows a straightforward chronology lol.

That’s all for this week 🙂 Thanks for reading

may all your dreams and wishes come true <3
