New Vlog Out :)

Happy Thanksgiving!

Happy Thanksgiving!

Ah it is that beautiful time of the year. For a lot of us, this weekend will be full of cheer, guests, and good food. For others, it will be a tough journey of remembrance, family arguments, and relived trauma. Whichever of the two you are, I hope you make the most out of this weekend and grow from the experience 🙂

I’m writing today’s newsletter from my childhood home in Maryland. Thanksgiving is one of my favorite holidays. It gives everyone an unnecessarily rare opportunity to express gratitude to those closest to us. I would like to express my utmost gratitude to you guys, Pizza Pages subscribers.

Every week, I am surprised by how many people actually read my words and watch my content. The open rates are still above 50%!!!! Absolutely crazy.

Sometimes it’s a bit of a struggle to justify the time I spend on all of these projects, but simply the support I get in words of encouragement and engagement from you all is more than enough. Thanks for supporting me and my work throughout this year so far.

Eat lots of indulgent grub, kiss yo momma, and may the Spirit of Gratitude infect us all this season <3

YOUTUBE

Last Friday, I uploaded another Youtube video! If you haven’t watched the whole things yet, here it is below!

This is another vlog where I try my best to creatively narrate my day. The overarching theme of my “day in the life” vlogs so far (two in the past month), is that the “day in the life” video genre is a little silly.

In my first video (Day in the Life of an Unsuccessful Artist), I make fun of the inauthenticity of these videos by parodying one in my own style. In my most recently upload, I address the lack of integrity in the overall storytelling of these kinds of vlogs in general.

While creating and consuming more personal content online, I found that there is a very thin line between what is authentic and inauthentic. On one hand, internet content (for the most part) is created by real-life, independent creators that are sharing their very real lives with their audience. On the other hand, in order to share that very same content to the masses, those creators have to fabricate, exaggerate, and sensationalize parts of their lives to make their content more watchable. There is an ironic give and take when it comes to online, creative integrity.

I attempt to address this imbalance in my most recent video by ratting on myself and exposing all of my lies. This way, I get to show a sensationalized version of my day while also remaining honest to my audience.

I hope that tracks LOL.

Like I mentioned earlier, I’m in my hometown for the holiday and will try my absolute best to push out another video on Friday - but it will likely be short and simple so I can make time to do what all of ya’ll are doing: spending quality time with family and friends.

I DREW THIS FOR YOU

RECS OF THE WEEK

YEEK - Before I Go

I been loving Yeek’s vibe since I head “Cleaner Air” a few years back. Moody, effortless, sick is the vibe. This on his new album. This my jam.

Laufey - Everything I know about Love

Obviously a very important and famous album for our generation. I didn’t realize until this year. These songs make me feel like I’m in a fairy tale. “Slow Down” got me feeling very romantically about the passage of time. Lauvey a voice of this era.

Thanks Thanks Thanks for reading! Have fun with your families or have fun chilling in your city with everyone else gone for the holiday.

May all your dreams and wishes come true <3
